Brunella Battista
Multi-disciplinary Artist
Brunella Battista is an award-winning multimedia artist and videographer with videos screened at the Vancouver Art Gallery, the World Peace Forum for the United Nations, and broadcast on CBC, Bravo!, Check TV, Channel M and Shaw.
Brunella has received international awards for video and poetry. As an internationally trained actor, Brunella was “Rosa Brusco” on Almost America with Sabrina Ferilli, and “Dumpty” on the Gemini winner Polka Dot Shorts. Her first short film, The Food & I, won a special jury prize at Invideo 2002 in Milan. She created the video pilot for International Students, winner of the Life Award at Innoversity in Toronto and co-wrote the reality show for a development deal with Alliance Atlantis.
Owner of dB digital TV, she has created videos for many high-end clients including the YWCA, Business Objects, Les Clefs D’Or and has filmed live for many events including TedX Stanley Park and the opening of the Anvil Centre.
The founder of Artists Rendering Tales Collective Inc., Brunella managed the community engagement for the year-long Coquitlam 125 celebrations, overseeing projects in 4 artistic disciplines (literary, media, visual arts, and theatre) which culminated in a public art installation with community participation, a collection of video and written stories, public performances of historical characters and a “Year in Review“ video. An internationally published writer and photographer, her 3D photography has been featured in shows at various art galleries in BC.
She is a fervent plant-based environmental activist and animal lover.
