Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site
In 2018 ARTCi were the artists in residence at the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site in Richmond, BC. The artist team engaged the public throughout the year in creative writing and drama workshops based on the historical and cultural significance of the site. They created a team of roving historical performing artists who dramatized the little-known stories of life on the river. ARTCi's visual artists encouraged visitors to add their mark to a large historical scroll now installed permanently in the Seine Net Loft. Elder Nk’xetko shared stories and artifacts reflecting Indigenous Peoples’ connection to and relationship with the land. ARTCi’s videographers made several shorts capturing many of these moments. ARTCi was nominated for a Governor General’s Award for Excellence in Historical Programming and was a finalist in 2019 for the Richmond Arts Awards for their efforts and finally the winner in the ARTS INNOVATION category in 2021.

Historical Characters
Artists Rendering Tales Collective Inc. actors introduce the history of Coquitlam as roving characters. Shelley plays the Story Collector, Lori plays Marg Horton, a Powder Puff race car driver. The team entertained the public while working alongside volunteers and professional actors. They collected stories while telling others.

Engraving and Drypoint Printing-making
Facilitating public engagement at many events, Tracie and Karen collected the stories of Coquitlam's 125 years. From Drypoint printmaking to creating a leaf for the Tree of Light, they encouraged the community to express itself in hands on activities. A favourite activity for festival goers was making wish ribbons and attaching them to the Wishing Tree installation.

Wishing Tree
The Wishing Tree was a project of dreams and vision, where attendees could write their wish on a colourful ribbon and attach it to the Wishing Tree. The final result provided a point of connectivity for the community and was beautiful, inspirational and uplifting.

Story Tree Installation
Artists Rendering Tales Collective Inc. visual artists Tracie and Karen coordinated a workshop area for festival attendees to engrave leaves for a tree of dreams and hopes to be unveiled at the Lights at Lafarge event. Individual motifs were engraved onto plexiglass leaves during public engagement events. Each suspended leaf increased the brilliance of the light within the tree and the community, as witnessed in the final installation.
